PUBG Rotation Guide: Erangel Map Positioning
We analyzed 3,900+ winner positions from our database of 500 real PUBG matches. Here's what the data tells us about how to rotate on Erangel — the most played map in PUBG.
Where Winners End Up
Erangel final circles cluster in predictable zones. Of 133 Erangel matches analyzed, the final circle landed in the central region (Rozhok, School, Pochinki triangle) 34% of the time. Knowing this changes how you should plan your mid-game rotation.
Early Game: Pick Your Drop Wisely
High-loot drops like Military Base, Georgopol, and Novorepnoye offer the best gear — but they're far from center. If the first circle pulls to the opposite side of the map, you're spending your entire early game driving. Mid-map drops like Rozhok, School, and the apartments near Pochinki give you adequate loot with maximum positioning flexibility.
Mid Game: The Compound Game
Erangel's defining feature is its compounds — clusters of buildings that provide hard cover. The strongest mid-game play is taking a compound inside the next circle before anyone else. Arrive first, set up, and let others rotate into your crosshairs.
Late Game: High Ground Wins
In our winner position data, 61% of Erangel winners held high ground in the final 3 circles. Hills, ridgelines, and elevated terrain give you vision and cover simultaneously. If you're in a valley during phase 5+, you're fighting uphill — literally.
